Salary and Benefits
This position is in a Salary Grade PM4, with a minimum salary of $49,770 per annum. The successful candidate’s salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range. This position is eligible for Northeast Community College’s excellent full-time fringe benefits package.

General Description
The purpose of this position is to provide support to current students to improve their probability of success so they retain from semester to semester, persist until graduation and, if applicable, have positive transfer experiences. This is accomplished by providing academic and career advising, assisting students to navigate college processes, acting as a liaison between students and faculty, staff and transfer institutions, utilizing a variety of modalities (face-to-face, social media, telephone, email) to deliver services, participation in college and departmental retention activities, and possessing a comprehensive understanding of the transfer process.
Qualifications: Education
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Applicants who do not meet the degree requirement will only be hired conditioned on obtainment of a bachelor’s degree.
Qualification:Experience
Previous experience in higher education providing services directly to students and demonstrated experience with project planning and implementation is preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of student support functions; ability to handle multiple priorities; effective verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills; ability to relate effectively and work collaboratively with students and institutional personnel; ability to create and conduct seminars and workshops; proficiency with a variety of computer technologies, such as databases, internet, spreadsheets, tracking systems and word processing; a high degree of professionalism and personal integrity; ability to work independently, but also as a member of a complex team in an atmosphere of frequently changing priorities; sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of students with a wide range of skills, motivations and academic goals; and excellent attention to detail. Advanced communication skills required.
