Position Summary:
The Senior Technical Advisor provides expert technical guidance and expertise to programs or portfolios. The Senior Technical Advisor spends a significant percentage of time (~40%) on business development. This may be higher or lower depending on the pipeline. This position may serve as lead writer or subject matter expert. The Senior Technical Advisor will participate in field assignments that may include providing targeted technical assistance to a project, serving in Acting capacity for technical or management roles, including COP or DCOP, representing Creative at high-level meetings with clients, external stakeholders, and government officials, and conducting capture trips to support proposal development initiatives.
The Senior Technical Advisor may serve as a Project Manager or Director for a project, depending on interest, availability and experience. Field SMEs or Technical Leads from projects may have dotted reporting lines to this position.
This Senior Technical Advisor should have a focus on Education in Emergencies and extensive experience working in contexts of crisis and conflict from project start-up, implementation, and closeout. Ideally this STA also has experience along the humanitarian/development nexus and can serve as a thought leader in this field writing blogs and attending events to promote Creative’s work in this space.
Reporting & Supervision:
The Senior Technical Advisor reports to the Senior Technical Director in the Education Division.
