Job Summary
Full-time faculty member at the rank of Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems with primary teaching responsibilities in the Master’s in Computer Information Technology program. Duties begin August 23, 2024, at the start of the Fall 2024 term.

The position’s primary focus is teaching and supporting students the Master’s in Computer Information Technology program. All department faculty may be assigned teaching duties in any of the department’s undergraduate or graduate programs. The CSIS department houses four traditional undergraduate majors: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Gaming and Entertainment Technology, and Information Systems. It also offers an Information Technology BA/BS program for adult non-traditional students and master-level degrees in Data Science and Computer Information Technology.

A candidate must have knowledge and experience in the areas of computer security, cloud computing, virtualization, computer networking, UI/UX, Web and mobile application, database systems, and project management. In addition, the candidate should have experience in delivering course contents in online and hybrid modalities.

Teaching load is 8 courses per year. Typical class sizes range between 10-25 students. Classes may meet during day or evening hours.

Essential Functions
  • Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction.
  • Provides students with assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
  • Documents student progress and maintains accurate records such as attendance, grading, and achievement of student learning outcomes.
  • Assists students who have questions or require extra help.
  • Advises students regarding course registration.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field with significant related professional experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Information Systems, Computer Science or related fields.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
