In its earliest incarnation, the company that would become A.B. Data was a publisher of Jewish educational materials. Founded by Bruce Arbit in 1976, Arbit Books explored a number of means of selling their inventory of instructional products including direct marketing. Over time, the discovery was made that the mailing lists compiled for this purpose -- containing the names and addresses of prospective buyers -- were as much in demand as the rest of Arbit Books inventory.

One of the earliest clients was Jerry Benjamin who joined forces with Bruce Arbit in 1981 to form a new company: Arbit Books Data, later incorporated as A.B. Data, Ltd.

Today, A.B. Data has three co-managing directors: Bruce Arbit, Jerry Benjamin, and Chuck Pruitt.

Since 1981, The A.B. Data Group has grown from 2 employees to more than 450 and has become a nationally and internationally recognized firm known for excellence in the following areas:
