Summary of Position: A Union Market employee is responsible for all phases of food service at Western Technical College. Cooking, prep, setup, service, cashiering, and clean up all fall within the scope of some of our positions. Each position will fluctuate depending on time of day and specific needs.

Positions include:

  • Cashier - $14-$16/hour
  • Chops Grill Cook - $14-$16/hour
  • Sub Line Employee - $14-$16/hour
  • Prep/Grill Cook - $14-$16/hour
  • Hours are flexible and more hours are available if wanted.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.

2. Customer Service and Training - Supporting Action/Task May Include:

  • Quick and courteous customer service
  • Accurately and efficiently charge patrons for purchases
  • Complete training on all pieces of equipment prior to use
3. Food Safety and Prep - Supporting Action/Task May Include:
  • Prepare customer's order using the proper recipe, portion and technique
  • Follow proper cooking, storage, and food handling techniques as given by full-time staff
  • Keep work area clean, safe and orderly at all times
  • Assist in all phases of set up, service and clean up in operation as needed
4. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous food service experience preferred
