Custom Circuit Design Engineer:

This is not a remote opportunity.

We are putting together a world-class ASIC design team to build and improve upon Ericsson's dominant position in 5G infrastructure and innovate for future dominance in 6G. We are looking for outstanding engineers that can help us with all facets of IP and SOC design and development, especially in custom circuit design in standard cells, memories and analog IP like custom clocking and PLLs. You will help drive Custom Circuit, and Global clocking structures from a custom circuit design perspective within Ericsson Radio and Baseband organizations. This custom circuit design position will be in the SI (Silicon Implementation) SOC Organization working closely with Physical Design, Power Architects, Product/Test Engineering, EDA, and Foundry. You will need to be well versed in these cross-discipline interactions to understand custom circuit design, circuit characterization and all facets of custom circuit view generation for consumption by Physical Design in P&R flows. Required as well are key understandings of advanced technology drivers to improve power and thermal performance in advanced technologies through custom circuit design techniques.

You will:
Custom Circuit Design Engineer - Design Custom Circuits for our ASIC Projects
* Design standard cells and other circuits to drive down power and improve physical implementation
* Develop world-class custom circuit design techniques to improve power
* Generate all design kit library views for standard cells and macro cells for Physical Design flows
Global Circuit Design - Designing and implementing global circuits
* Work closely with other engineering disciplines to reduce power and thermal hot spots through custom circuit designs and custom implementation techniques
* Work on test chips to validate some of our custom circuits
* Chip-level global circuit support of clocking such as clock drivers, clock mesh and PLLs
* Design and integration of special silicon margin circuit monitors for improved silicon learning
To be successful in the role, you must have the following:
* Minimum of a BS EE/CE with several years of in industry, hands on experience with a design background
* Strong background in digital or analog custom circuit design (e.g., FF, ICG, SRAM, register file, PLL, LDO, IO PHY, logic cells)
* Basic understanding of mixed-signal circuit design with some basic knowledge of its functionality, electrical characteristics, and the different EDA requirements for design integration
* Experience in developing schedules, helping define processes and best-known practices, and supporting various engineering efforts
* Self-motivated, an attitude of pro-activeness, follow-through, and a continuous improvement mindset, as you engage with different Physical Design groups and Ericsson organizations around the world
