VICE PRESIDENT, REVENUE MANAGEMENT
Reports to: EVP, Commercial Services, position is exempt.
THE ROLE
The Vice President of Revenue Management reports to EVP, Commercial Services. It is critical the person in this position is tactical and strategic with revenue management leadership experience. We are an entrepreneurial company that is in hyper-growth with four hotels opening this year, so having the ability to be a soldier is as critical as being a general as you develop the best revenue management organization model for our growing company. In this role you will coach and guide your team and the hotel Directors of Revenue of our unique portfolio by ensuring they are yielding revenue and driving the strategy to be the RevPAR leaders in their competitive sets. As part of the Aparium you will develop trusting and transparent relationships and collaborate with a phenomenal group of peers who insist that you are also collaborative, humble, experienced, and open-minded as no egos are allowed.
As the Vice President of Revenue Management, you will be responsible for ensuring your team fulfills all tasks related to driving market share and revenue performance through proper pricing, segmentation mix and distribution management to exceed the hotels revenue and RPI goals. You are collaborative and a strategic partner to the Regional Directors of Sales and the SVP of Marketing, and you clearly communicate the revenue management needs and trends in the hotels and how to drive revenues and improve performance. This is a hybrid position that will be based out of the Chicago Headquarters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Uphold and role model the company's principles of People, Place and Character; and ensure direct reports are also modeling the way of our values that drive collaboration, intuition, and translocal hospitality.
  • Provide the support and vision to guide property Revenue Directors to strategically drive top line revenue and commercial activities for the hotels.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports to develop their full potential; establish clear expectations that will allow them to achieve success in their role; provide them the necessary tools and training for growth and optimal performance.
  • Provide strategic direction on Aparium revenue management practices, policies and procedures that enable each property to standardize their methods and tactics, while adapting to their local market needs and meeting budgeted guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a passion for "being in the know" by understanding the business and performance of our respective hotels and the markets they are in. Ensure hotel team continuously evaluates impact of market changes including analysis of competitive sets or new supply.
  • Evaluate the portfolios performance to critique and find opportunities to optimize the hotel's revenue mix, optimal price positioning and assist the teams to craft a strategy to maximize market share in every location we operate.
  • Communicate and guide teams to develop a property-specific action plan as necessary to address performance deficiencies and to improve RevPAR performance to elevate market share rank within the competitive set.
  • Conduct an annual on property strategy audit in collaboration with DOS and DRM with a strategic approach to enhance current performance, whether it's doing things differently or fine-tuning current strategies.
  • Maintain and foster relationships with key vendors, lead negotiations and collaborate with EVP of Finance on contracts, pricing, and terms of agreement.
  • Access and evaluate current reporting and tools in place to find efficiencies and opportunities for enhanced analytics.
  • Hire, train and onboard new team members with continued mentorship, guidance, and strategic direction to maximize the potential of each player on the team.
  • Lead the Revenue management critical path for new opening hotel until the DRM is in place.
  • Assist with Pre-opening tasks related to market evaluation, comp set analysis, proforma underwriting validation and stub year budgets.
POSITION REQUIREMENT
  • Highly skilled in revenue management with the ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Minimum of three (3) years at a corporate vice president level with direct area/regional/multi-hotel responsibility, within upscale, lifestyle or luxury hospitality companies
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Willingness to travel 10%-20% of the time or when needed.
  • Willingness to be based in Chicago Office, located in the West Loop
  • Comfortable in working in an open-space office environment at headquarters.
  • Professional proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication
