Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Reliability Test Technician on the Design for Reliability Team to conduct internal testing that will be critical to make our products more robust and reliable. As part of the Reliability team, you will operate and take ownership of reliability tests and assist with battery cell teardowns, failure analysis, and material characterization methods. This role will require hands-on work in the lab and ability to collaborate with a cross functional team to ensure high quality testing and results.

What you'll do:
  • Perform Reliability test activities which include handling chemicals, sample preparation, and using common test equipment

  • Operate mechanical test instruments, test incubators, environmental chambers, and electrochemical test instruments

  • Monitor test status, troubleshoot test issues, and perform data analysis

  • Assist with battery cell teardowns, failure analysis, and documentation of findings

  • Organize and maintain cleanliness of Reliability lab spaces, perform regular equipment maintenance, and be a champion for safety in the lab

What you'll bring:
  • 3+ years of experience as a test technician or hands-on role with testing materials, hardware products, or battery products

  • Skilled use of common hand tools and power tools

  • Experience executing test plans and recommending adjustments to new test methods

  • Detail oriented, a proactive self starter with excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Experience operating incubators, environmental chambers, battery test equipment such as Arbin, and other test equipment as needed is a plus

  • Experience developing new test methods and/or assembly of test fixtures is a plus
