Weekend Days (United States of America)Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk on the 3W Stepdown/Intermediate Care Unit.
Hours/Shift:
Full-time, Every Fri, Sat and Sun from 6am to 6pm
Department/Position Overview:
As aPatient Care Technicianwith Sentara, you will have the opportunity to learn many new skills. From taking vitals to blood draws and daily care. The primary duties of this position include supporting the admission/discharge process, changing, bathing ambulating patients, drawing blood, foley catheter care, meeting patient needs while working under the direct supervision of a nurse. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to provide the best care for our patients.

Job Summary
Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing.Qualifications:
HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) - Certification - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)Skills
