Job Description
Field Process Engineer, Lam Research Corporation, Boise, ID. Responsible for process support and installation of Lam equipment at customer sites. Evaluate and document process outputs of hardware modifications and upgrades to existing systems. Set up and complete experiments, collect data and generate reports for internal and external distribution. Work with senior engineers and customers to understand customer technology roadmaps, process flow, inflection points, requirements and business issues/challenges. Design and complete DOE (Design of Experiments) evaluations to characterize process window for new installations or Lam recommended field hardware modifications/upgrades. Develop new processes for small variants to existing customer applications. Present technical and marketing materials to a high standard. Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel.
 
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. 
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Materials Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a related field, plus 2 years of experience in process engineering.
 
Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Materials Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a related field.
 
Must have education or experience in at least 3 of the following: Design of Experiments (DOE); statistical process control (SPC); multivariate data sets; semiconductor fabrication; and, plasma physics, plasma chemistry, or plasma reactors.
 
Must have education or experience in at least 3 of the following: wafer cross section techniques; wafer fabrication processes; ion transport phenomena; dynamic random-access memory (DRAM); plasma etching; plasma simulation; semiconductor thin film deposition; Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD); 3D NAND Flash; Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD); and/or Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD).
 
Must have education or experience in 2 of the following software: MATLAB; LabVIEW; JMP; Hybrid Plasma Equipment Model (HPEM); Mathematica; and/or Origin.
 
Experience may be gained while in graduate school.
 
Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel.
