Job Summary:

Reporting to theManagerof Managed Care and Revenue Integrity, the Denials Coordinator is primarily responsible for executing the denials process for denied claims at Emerson Hospital. The coordinator also works with third-party payers to respond to inquiries, complaints, and other correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in healthcare/business management, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience: minimum two years experience in healthcare billing, collection, payment processing, or denials management. Minimum of two years experience using computer applications for tracking denials and appeals.

Licensure and/or Certification: N/A

Skills:
Hospital billing and reimbursement
Medicare and Commercial denials and appeals
An understanding of third-party contracts
Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
