Electro & Mechanical TechnicianPREPARES WORK TO BE ACCOMPLISHEDby studying assembly instructions, drawing specifications, parts and wire lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
POSITIONS PARTS AND SUBASSEMBLIES by using fixtures or reading measurements.
ASSEMBLES COMPONENTSby following established assembly process without deviation unless approved and documented; examining connections for correct fit; wiring; fastening parts and subassemblies.
VERIFIES SPECIFICATIONSby self-inspecting documentation and completed component and performing process verification.
IDENTIFIES & HELPS RESOLVE ASSEMBLY PROBLEMS by gathering pertinent data, identifying, and evaluating options, and participating in team problem solving processes to recommend a course of action using the Continuous Improvement form.
KEEPS EQUIPMENT OPERATIONALby completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's recommendations; reporting malfunctions to the maintenance department.
MAINTAINS SAFE AND CLEAN WORKING ENVIRONMENTby complying with procedures and rules.
MAINTAINS SUPPLIES INVENTORYby anticipating needed supplies and communicating needs.
CONSERVES RESOURCESby using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
DOCUMENTS ACTIONSby completing production, inventory, and quality forms accurately.
CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM EFFORTby accomplishing department/company results as needed; maintaining effective communications with teammates, customers, and suppliers; accepting new challenges; acting as mentor to new/temporary employees.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, wire cutting and stripping machines, semiautomatic terminal crimping machine, overhead crane, hand trucks, and continuity testers.
PROCESS KNOWLEDGE: Wiring schematics, wire lists, and mechanical drawings; mechanical connections; wire prep; wiring techniques; hand soldering; safety procedures; Schindler quality; electro-static discharge control; inventory control; packing and shipping; proper use and control of third tier documents; original document control.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or the equivalent
