Hand Solderer

The Hand Solder role is unique for individuals who likes to use precision hand tools, soldering components like surface mount and thru-hole.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of hand soldering to all classes of assemblies, including surface mount, thru-hole, wires/modification and rework through the use of a microscope. In addition, may perform more complex assembly operations as assigned by the production supervisor. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assemble electrical or electromechanical devices or components using a variety of hardware/tools
  • Operate a variety of equipment as needed to fulfill customer requirements
  • Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
  • Perform verification tests in accordance with assembly instructions
  • Perform work with minimal supervision and instruction
  • Rework and/or repair assemblies as required
  • Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Perform other assignments as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • HS Diploma Required
  • Ability to learn basic component identification skills.
  • Ability to perform simple task utilizing work instructions
  • Ability to perform basic and routine repetitive mechanical assembly operations using fixtures and tools.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed assembly instructions
  • Abilities listed in General Requirements of Team Members
  • Must be quality-oriented with attention to detail.
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • U.S. Person authorization to meet ITAR / EAR requirements

PreferredSkills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of hand soldering
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity
  • Ability to use tools and testing devices
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 Certification
