Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Planner / Grant Analyst, we'll count on you to:

* Provide technical skills and experience related to grant funding and assist clients in selecting the most competitive projects for funding.

* Provide grant writing and funding strategy support for infrastructure projects.

* Assist with the development and writing of Federal, State and other grant applications.

* Serve as support personnel for grant support contracts.

* Demonstrate general knowledge of federal policy and grant guidelines.

* Actively contribute to client relationships (both internally and externally).

* Support the growth of HDR's grant services advisory team.

* Establish client relationships and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.

* Coordinate workload with multiple project managers.

* Implement QA/QC procedures.

* Perform research using the internet and a variety of other methods.

* Assist in preparation of written reports and documentation related to grants, client presentations, and compilation of marketing materials.

* Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) work (fact checking, proofing, etc.) as assigned.

* Ability to effectively organize and complete multiple tasks in a schedule-sensitive environment.

* Provide transportation planning services for transit, highway, state agencies, cities and counties

* Assist in corridor studies, forecast modeling, traffic analysis, transportation planning, and impact fee development

* Prepare constraints mapping, assimilate, and manage data

* Support in the preparation required documents such as categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, environmental impact studies and other technical reports

* Assist in preparation for and participate in public information meetings and hearings

* Perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in planning, technical writing, civil engineering or equivalent experience

* 1 year of experience with transportation planning and design

* 1 year of experience of grant writing and working on grants or other data-driven document production experience

* Must have the ability to interact with others, have excellent organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills.

* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with public agencies - local municipalities, transit agencies, state DOTs, Federal government, etc.

* 3+ years of experience of grant writing and working on grants or other data-driven document production experience

* 3+ years of experience with transportation planning and design
