Job Description
OverviewMicrosoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As an Principal Electrical Engineer in the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Office of CO+I, you will be responsible for developing new innovative products and solutions for Microsoft's data center infrastructure, including uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, power distribution units (PDUs), and power management software. You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and customers to design, prototype, test, and deliver high-quality and reliable electrical products that meet the performance, efficiency, and scalability requirements of Microsoft's cloud services. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 Datacenters and 1 million servers. Our foundation is built upon and managed by a team of subject matter experts working to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide. ResponsibilitiesDesigning and developing electrical circuits, schematics, layouts, and components for data center power products, such as UPS systems, PDUs, and power converters. Performing electrical simulations, analysis, and testing to verify the functionality, performance, and reliability of the products. Collaborating with mechanical, thermal, firmware, and software engineers to integrate electrical products into the data center system. Troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues and defects during the product development and deployment phases. Evaluating and selecting electrical components, vendors, and manufacturing partners for the products. Preparing and reviewing technical documentation, specifications, and reports for the products. Conducting research and staying updated on the latest trends and technologies in the data center power domain. Embody our culture and values.
