Job Description:

The CIPP Technician assists our crew by providing manual labor, operating hand tools, delivering equipment, and other duties associated with preparation, installation, and post-installation of CIPP (Cure in place pipe) trenchless technology methods.

A Day in the Life

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor at construction project sites.

  • Operates hand and power tools of all types including grinders, handheld saws, sewer cleaning equipment, closed circuit televising equipment (CCTV), confined space retrieval equipment, and a variety of other specialized equipment and instruments.

  • Assists in preparation, installation, and post installation duties for Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) liners.

  • Delivers CIPP rehabilitation equipment to and from jobsite locations.

  • Loads and unloads trucks. Hauls and hoists materials.

  • Always maintains a clean job site. Picks up all material, tools, and small equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.

  • Material handling and storage.

  • Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings any concerns to the attention of the project Foreman, Superintendent, General Superintendent, Safety Director, or Management.

  • Keep project foreman, superintendent, or general superintendent informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform tasks at construction project sites or adversely affect Company operations.

  • Work as part of a construction crew on sewer lines, storm drains, or water mains for the purpose of pipeline rehabilitation.

  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Conduct pre-shift vehicle inspection.

  • Performs laborer duties as needed to ensure a timely and quality job and carry out special projects as assigned.

  • Other projects or duties as assigned by management.


What You'll Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent; two years of construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to enter, exit and work in confined spaces (manholes, storm drain structures, pump stations, etc.).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable safety precautions and procedures.

  • Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Oral communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management, employees, external vendors and jobsite personnel, and other business associates.

  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.

  • Commitment to attendance as indicated by management and/or project requirements.

  • Experience in the CIPP industry preferred.

  • OSHA-30 preferred.

  • First Aid/CPR preferred.


Other

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

  • Position requires 8 to 12-hour workdays and occasional weekends, as needed. Must be flexible regarding work hours. Shift normally starts at 6:30am and goes until the work is done for the day. May be required to work nights at times.

  • Possess a clean driving record over the last 3 years and successful completion of a pre-employment background check, including a drug screen.

  • Position requires 75-100% travel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 75 pounds occasionally, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Often required to sit, stand, walk, bend knees, stretch arms, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to stoop or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Able to work extended hours (up to 12 per day) during peak periods.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employees encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. Employees are exposed to environmental conditions, working near machines and loud noises associated with construction sites. Exposed to variable weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, cold and heat. Also exposed to variable terrain.
