Required Education and/or Experience
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree.
Two (2) years of experience in business office practices or program administration.
Other job-related education or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work experience as an administrative assistant;
Prior experience with Workday.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Managing budget spreadsheets;
Paying invoices;
Ordering food and supplies;
Processing travel reimbursements;
Hiring (position and requisition creation and onboarding);
Keeping up with the Center's correspondence;
Handling administrative tasks for the Center's LSAT pathway program;
Keeping up communication with the Center's funders and monitoring grant opportunities;
Working with Bowen's communications director on the Center's graphics, website, and social media;
Assist with planning and executing the Center's events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of applicable state, federal, and university rules, regulations, and procedures;
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Proficiency in using Google Docs and Google Mail (Gmail);
Knowledge of office-management practices;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Ability to work collaboratively and independently with common goals as part of a team;
Ability and willingness to take initiative in learning and implementing knowledge of office procedures;
Ability to demonstrate patience and accuracy in resolving student, faculty, and staff concerns;
Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment;
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
