Job Description

Job Title: Accountant

Position Summary: The Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position will primarily focus on Sales and Use Tax, Corporate Tax, Monthly Closing, and Account Reconciliations. The successful candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of financial management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Coordination of Sales and Use Tax Returns:Reconcile and Coordinate submission of State Sales and Use Tax Returns..

  2. Liaison with External Tax Accountants: Serve as a primary point of contact for external Tax Accountants, facilitating communication and fulfilling various requests throughout the fiscal year.

  3. Adherence to Close Period: Actively contribute to maintaining a stringent 2-5 day close, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

  4. Revenue Account Analysis: Conduct analysis of specific revenue accounts, recording monthly revenue and providing insights to enhance financial decision-making.

  5. Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of various accounts within designated areas of responsibility, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.

  6. Support External Audits: Assist in the preparation for and execution of periodic external audits, providing documentation and insights as required.

  7. Additional Tasks: Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks or projects as directed by management, contributing to the overall success of the finance team and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with an understanding of Sales and Use Tax, and financial close and reconciliation processes.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
