The University Relations (UR) Specialist will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies to attract, engage, and hire top-tier university talent. The UR Specialist will collaborate closely with hiring managers, university stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure a seamless and effective recruitment process. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape our employer brand and build strong partnerships within the academic community. University Relations Specialist will serve as the main point of contact for interns throughout the recruitment process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Program Management with internships, early career, alumni and ambassadors - 45%

  • Develop communication strategy to enhance existing and create new relationships with key university partners (career services, faculty, student groups, alumni) *Develop and implement strategic university recruitment initiatives: Plan and execute targeted recruitment strategies to attract top early career talent from universities and colleges, including organizing career fairs, information sessions, networking events, and on-campus interviews.
  • Maintain relationships with existing university partners and contacts; develop new relationships and assess additional partnership opportunities
  • Facilitate classroom presentations as needed in order to increase brand/opportunity awareness
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop targeted university recruiting strategies
  • Implement innovative approaches to attract diverse university talent including internships and full-time positions
  • Oversee campus ambassador program/responsibilities
  • Generate reports/review event ROI and present findings to stakeholders, leveraging insights to optimize recruitment strategies
  • Serve as the primary or sole representative present for campus events (classroom presentations, career fairs, sponsorship events, networking events etc)

Administrative Management - 25%

  • Planning and supporting all university hiring and engagement events
  • Manage registration and expenses for all campus related events
  • Staff each event with the appropriate amount of representatives and provide prep information
  • Prepare and organize event materials (banners, giveaways, brochures)
  • Provide support for interviews virtually, on campus and onsite as applicable
  • Create and update corporate alumni list
  • Analyze and optimize recruitment metrics: Track and analyze key performance indicators related to campus recruitment efforts, such as applicant flow, conversion rates, and hiring outcomes, and use data-driven insights to continuously improve our recruiting processes and achieve hiring goals.

Employer Branding - 15%

  • Identify competitive advantage and effective messaging for university population through conducting surveys, focus groups, and other research activities to gather insights into our employer brand perception among early career talent. Use findings to inform branding strategies and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the preferences and expectations of our target audience.
  • Post jobs with universities using Handshake, Simplicity (or other platforms)
  • Expand social media reach and engagement with early career talent through campaigns, posts, and engagement activities.
  • Enhance employer branding efforts: Develop and execute innovative strategies to enhance our employer brand on campus, including creating engaging marketing materials, leveraging social media platforms, and organizing employer branding events to showcase our company culture and career opportunities.

Hiring/Recruitment - 15%

  • Provide all managers involved in interviews with necessary candidate information, coordinate interview schedules
  • Screen, interview and present job offers for summer internship opportunities
  • Assist with warming activities and onboarding process for new hires
  • Assist with building entry level talent pipeline on full time positions as needed (sales, administrative roles)

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)

May work on special projects or other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

* Communicates with external university stakeholders and partners

* Responsibility of less than $100,000, or indirect responsibility

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree required

* 4+ years of related professional work experience; with at least 2 years in early career recruiting and/or experience in a university related role

* Prior experience with Yello and Handshake a plus

* Prior experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) preferred
