* Maintains an accounting system to meet hospital needs and provides complete and accurate records of hospital assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.
* Prepares hospital financial statements and reports for internal distribution and regulatory reporting.
* Assists in preparation of audit and cost report work papers and other pertinent information to external customers as requested.
* Receives and answers inquiries from hospital management regarding account balances, fluctuations in accounts, and related information.
* Conducts monthly reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, receivables accounts, bank accounts, investments accounts and schedules, fixed assets, and related depreciation schedules.
* Makes appropriate journal entries and reviews monthly accruals for payroll, income, and vendor payables.
* Responsible for accuracy and security of all banks deposits.
* Responsible for adding, changing, and building new accounts and reports in the financial software system.
* Assist with the annual budget for the Accounting department.
* Responsible for input of hospital budget into hospital information system.
* Responsible for preparing and writing any special reports from the general ledger system.
