Role with the Company:
SUMMARY: Lead a team of 10 billing and collections team members. Establish, monitor and/or adjust policies and procedures to implement best practices while ensuring that balances are collected timely and exposure to risk of bad debt is limited. Reports to the Assistant Controller to begin with, then to the VP-Controller.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage a team of 10 billing and collection team members (to include hiring, mentoring, and developing)
  • Organize workload for staff for efficiency and accuracy
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls surrounding billing and collections
  • Monitor and report on billing deductions
  • Build strong relationships with customer and internal departments including client services, IT and sales in order to facilitate timely resolution of issues
  • Escalate issues as appropriate
  • Develop and report on KPI's
  • Establish and implement collections policies and procedures
  • Able to independently problem solve and manage a team
  • Demonstrate persistence in brining issues/projects to conclusion and provide guidance to the team to do the same.
  • Clear and effective communication skills with all levels of management
  • Ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task to ensure deadlines are met

Background profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field
  • 5+ years of Credit & Collections experience in a large company
  • 3+ years of management experience managing teams of 5+
  • Experience in a growing business, adapting to improve processes to allow for further growth
  • ERP system implementation experience and continuous process improvement mindset a plus
  • Strong Excel user including pivot tables and vlookups and experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Inquisitive self-starter, go-getter, capable of learning quickly with desire to learn
  • Highly organized with ability to research and resolve issues
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence
