About the role:

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced marketing professional to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that underscore the value of zyBooks' interactive learning products for the higher education Engineering & IT markets.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by crafting compelling messaging and spearheading innovative marketing campaigns that generate demand and nurture customers through their purchasing journey.

Excellent communication, storytelling, presentation skills, and a keen attention to detail are crucial. This position collaborates closely with Sales, Content, Product Design, and Community colleagues to develop and execute strategic plans for zyBooks' courseware products.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop and execute annual marketing plans with measurable goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with Product Marketing teammates on go-to-market strategies, sales tool kits, messaging templates, and other collateral and sales enablement pieces.

  • Plan and execute multi-channel marketing strategies and programs, targeting Engineering & IT instructors with a focus on automated email marketing and paid media campaigns.

  • Regularly analyze campaign results to track effectiveness, and proactively take action to improve performance based on data-driven insights.

  • Work with Sales and Customer Success to effectively engage with Engineering and IT instructors, position and present products, and overcome objections.

  • Craft and refine differentiated value propositions and positioning for products, ensuring they resonate with the target audience.

  • Create differentiated value propositions and positioning for products.

  • Create account-based strategies and track top target lists for new products and features.

  • Develop and implement market development strategies to create awareness, engagement, and leads for new products.

  • Manage and execute webinars, trade shows, and other events to increase brand visibility and product awareness.

  • Engage directly with Engineering & IT instructors through conferences, conversations, and social media to build relationships and gather feedback.

  • Demonstrate expertise in zyBooks' products through customer calls and presentations, showcasing product benefits and features.

  • Foster relationships with authors and advocates, identifying new advocates, thought leaders, partners, and influencers to expand market reach.

  • Partner with Research colleagues to conduct surveys with instructors and students to generate insights about the higher education Engineering & IT markets.

  • Generate actionable insights by analyzing instructor and student surveys.

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions and positioning.

Desired Skills:

  • 3+ years of successful experience in marketing or selling technology products.
  • Strong writing, communication, and technology presentation skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills and judgment to identify and prioritize opportunities.

  • An understanding of digital marketing tools for marketing automation, website management, and events is a plus.

  • Highly motivated, achievement-oriented, and capable of juggling multiple priorities.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed team player with a positive attitude.

  • Passion for finding new ways to reach and engage audiences.

  • Proven ability to build relationships across various stakeholders including sales, editorial, and operations.
