WHAT TO EXPECT

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Gates has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler who will be located in our Houston, TX office.

In this role you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, and stack merchandise. Unloading, loading, staging inventory in designated locations, and will be staging materials needed for production orders. You are accountable for safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may be required to perform general warehouse duties.

Responsibilities include:
  • Proper placement of received inventory goods in the designated locations of distribution area

  • Accurately, read, write and follow a production ticket - staging this product in designated areas by each order assignment - maintains inventory in production areas based on daily reports/activity and production tickets
  • Provides assistance with daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts - ensures accuracy of all reporting documents related to inventory
  • Provides assistance to the QA/QC team on API 7K product being received, and other duties as assigned.

This position requires a High school diploma or GED.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
