Summary:
The Senior Manager, Meetings, Conventions & Events, will be responsible for creating and implementing strategic initiatives and processes to effectively showcase Pacira BioSciences, Inc., and its products (EXPAREL, iovera and ZILRETTA) at key meetings and conventions. The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company strategy, marketing objectives and customer needs.
The Senior Manager will be at the forefront of identifying, evaluating, and seizing new opportunities, leading the way in planning, executing, and measuring the success of events. The primary mission is to create customer experiences that align with our mission, vision and strategy while generating high-quality leads. Collaborating closely with marketing and commercial leaders, the Senior Manager will be responsible to craft and implement strategies to ultimately drive patient impact.
The ideal candidate will have proven track record of leading cross functional teams and driving the delivery of high-quality events from proposal to delivery, and delivering events on time, within budget, that align to our core strategy. This role interfaces closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning
    • Lead the orchestration and execution of a comprehensive vision for events aligned with the company's overall commercial objectives and brands' positioning
    • Develop annual national conference/exhibit plan (includes cross-functional activity/presence, marketing lead, sponsorship level, etc.) in collaboration with Marketing leadership
    • Foster customer loyalty through the successful planning and execution of events aimed at increasing visibility, generating sales leads, and retaining and attracting new customers
  • Event Curation
    • Lead congress and society meetings and related events - from planning, organizing and execution across stakeholders
    • Coordinate with relevant cross-functional team members and vendors to develop an effective conference (national) program that supports Pacira BioSciences' marketing and corporate strategic plans
    • Partner with brand and digital marketing, as well as PR, to develop high-quality customer engagement including a consistent event presence, branding, and booth to support brand growth, awareness and generate sales leads
    • Direct the execution of both physical and virtual experiences, including industry/trade events and related key opinion leader (KOL) meetings and educational events
  • Leadership
    • Build deep relationships with key medical congresses to maximize company engagement and influence at key meetings and societies
    • Engage cross-functional leadership from Marketing, Operations, Analytics and Sales to ensure successful event planning and execution
    • Promote visibility and transparency of all national, regional, and local meetings, events, and launch roadmaps and programs
    • Seek innovative ways to modernize and deployment of meetings, events, and related programs.
    • Ensure consistent implementation and operational capabilities across meetings and events.
    • Develop and execute pre- and post-event communication plans related to all events
  • Vendor and Supplier Management & Performance Measurement and Optimization
    • Liaise with vendor partners on conference management activities and expectations
    • Record and track expenses from all exhibits and associated displays/configurations throughout the year
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and impact of meetings, events. Partner with Commercial and Marketing analytics to evaluate, measure, and report on the effectiveness of events, leads generated, and ROI and provide regular reporting to management
    • Monitor the budget for meetings and events, ensuring cost-effective planning and execution while delivering exceptional experiences. Provide guidance to brand or franchise owners throughout the process and ensure compliance with budgetary and regulatory requirements
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position may have supervisory responsibility.
Interaction:
Will work and partner closely with internal and external contacts, including healthcare providers and associates in Commercial, Medical, Finance and Compliance as well as with Vendors and Conference organizer staff.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree from accredited college or university; will consider depth of experience in lieu of education.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in event/trade show/conference planning in the pharmaceutical or medical industry.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and ability to be a team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop action plan as part of planning process.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain budgets, track spending.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven negotiation skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, move between spaces, reach with hands and arms and stoop. Ability to safely navigate in small, crowded spaces such as Trade Show booths. Travel up to 20%.
