Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position open for an experienced civil engineer to work with and potentially lead our construction engineering and inspection team.

Responsibilities include:

Performing and overseeing construction inspections, designs, reports, studies, specifications and construction documents; developing mentoring junior staff; assisting with business development; serving as the project manager as necessary. This position has the opportunity to eventually lead and supervise the construction inspection and engineering team. Supervisory responsibilities include providing mentoring and guidance to team members; working with the department manager to plan the strategic growth and development of the team; reviewing and approving timesheets, expense reports, training requests, and conference attendance; conducting performance reviews. Some travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have all the following:

  • a bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering;
  • at least twenty years of relevant work experience; and
  • a PE license in any state with ability to obtain in West Virginia within six months of start date

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Experience with West Virginia transportation design and construction projects
  • Serving as the project manager on transportation related projects
  • Experience mentoring or supervising staff
  • Experience with business development activities
