Exxelia USA, Inc. (part of Exxelia Group & HEICO Corp), is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Groundsman whose principal duties consist of inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the company building, grounds, and equipment. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain the building, grounds, and equipment.
  • Perform necessary repairs/maintenance, such as flooring, drywall, painting, plumbing, landscaping, etc.
  • Replace light bulbs and repairs light fixtures as needed.
  • Change air conditioner filters and belts; oil air conditioner motors as required.
  • Collect hazardous or non-hazardous waste in correctly labeled barrels or other containers and transfer them to appropriate collection areas.
  • Build and install equipment and appliances.
  • Respond to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate deliveries from vendors. Load and unload equipment/incoming materials when necessary.
  • Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and contractors as needed.
  • Read and follow manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions.
  • Use equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.
  • Keep documents of inspections and problems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and keep a maintenance log.
  • Keep an inventory of cleaning and repair supplies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • At least one (1) year of building maintenance, construction, plumbing, or electrician experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
  • The ability to read standard measuring instruments and schematics.
  • Communicate effectively, speaking multiple languages is preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a multisite setting and international environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with a demonstrated sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and conduct assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices with a continuous improvement mindset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely, and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 10-15 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone.
